Maybe this lead to two Alpina calibres within the Alpina-Gruen Guild. It is also considerable that the earlier Alpina 762 was finished by Gruen, and the later Alpina 575 purchased directly from Universal. Movement registers and staff lists contain only the base calibre Universal 259, and this makes further investigations difficult. Example, year: signature; shock device 1945: 1218344, Alpina 575, Swiss Not for Sale! The movements presented in this caliber finder are not for sale. This is only a data sheet for identification and evaluation of the movement calibre, as well as for approximate dating. |
