Comments about the data
Trademarks: Favor, Favorit, Unidor
Probably there is at least a family relation to the parts- and dial factory Schätzle in Weil am Rhein, which was founded in 1911 by Paul Schätzle, and which is still in family ownership.
The locations of the mentioned firms few miles apart in Weil am Rhein (Germany) and Basel (Switzerland), and near the French border, suggest a frequent border traffic. Thus the poor informations are no surprise: Likely it should not be published, who produced what and especially where.
Although the few Favor calibres for pocket watches are frequently met, mostly in German watches, but occasionally also in Swiss watches, and despite their good quality, the literature provides only few informations about their manufacturer.
The situation for calibre designations and dimensions of pocket-watch movements is with chaos still friendly characterised. In this archive only designations are mentioned which were noticed on according movements, and the dimensions were taken from real samples.
Two base calibres for wrist watches are mostly listed under Tschudin. Nevertheless Bestfit and Quickfit list them under Favor, and both will have known, where to buy the parts they distributed. Here these calbres are listed under both brands in parallel to simplify searching.
