Of course plated brass cases were the first choice for them, despite the big metal areas, where every scratch is obvious, and impossible to be removed. If such a design disaster is actually worn, steel is of course the better choice. And the only alternative to the high price here is ebay: There almost all cases are made of steel or even gold. Steel not good The only trouble of the digital variants from this family is the not durable hour-driver spring. Not by accident so many offers are met, with the desription "hour not switching, likely just a bagatelle". If the hour wheel with the riveted spring is anywhere available, it is really an easy fix. But unfortunately parts which must be frequently replaced, are pretty soon sold out. Then the spring allone must be replaced. This is troublesome, thus expensive, but if Nivaflex is used, the spring will likely last some centuries.
