The 2nd wheel A drives as usual the 3rd wheel B.
But between 3rd wheel and sweep-second wheel E there are two additional wheels C and D.
The sweep-second wheel E doesn't drive the escape wheel G directly as usual, but over a further wheel F.
All in all three additional pinions with wheels leave no space for a big balance and a big barrel, and they cost money. Any advantage in return is not noticeabel, and one must regard this movement as beautiful oddity.
