Movements of this kind are not self-starting. So when pulling the crown, the balance is locked in a position, from which it reliably starts when pushing the crown (Fig.3).

Attention: With once setting the hands back and forth, the date is only advanced half a day. So the date can be set at noon and midnight, but care must be taken that the dot is finally in the correct position (cf. above).
