The minute repeater is one of the most sophisticated complication, and therefore scarcely found. A watch which additionally has a chronograph feature is obviously outstanding.
Maybe. Surely similar watches are available cheaper. In return you just must accept wear, dings, and dents according to the age, a more or less damaged dial, and maybe it urgently needs a watchmaker, who asks much more than the price difference. On ebay almost every watch is an "outstandingly rare rarity", but only few are in a condition which makes a collector happy. Old and worn out is not the same as antique and valuable.
