Howard - Jones - IWC - Reed
Not for nothing, refering quality and many features, Howard- and IWC watches are equivalent. F.A. Jones worked for E. Howard before he founded the IWC. Many details in fine watches were firstly introduced by Howard. G.P. Reed, an outstanding engineer, worked for Howard. He invented the safety barrel, later applied in almost every high grade American watch, and moreover the wellknown wiplash regulator. Mainly the name E. Howard Boston was bought by the Keystone Watch Case Co. in 1903, but the tradition to produce finest watches in small quantities was continued - of course with safety barrel and Reed's regulator.
Maybe. Surely similar watches are available cheaper. And 90 years ago 125 Dollars would have been enough for a brandnew sample (but a Lange watch wasn't substantially more expensive). You're simply too late: It is definitely sold out.
