Odd features make post stamps valuable. Watches also? No clue. Anyway, the movement of this watch is strange:  It has plates and balance of the Kienzle 46/0a, but with 3 threads (A in Fig.2) for the new casing (not yet the later 3 posts of the Kienzle 46/0c). The holes B for the old casing are still present, but the according threads were not cut. Moreover the mounting flange was turned off, making this sample a bit smaller than the Kienzle 46/0c.
So actually this is a Kienzle 46/0a, modified to fit cases for the Kienzle 46/0c, and it will likely remain a secret why it was stamped as 46/0b. Surely this is authentic, as the modifications were done before painting the 3/4 plate, and as the threads, necessary for the Kienzle 46/0a, are missing.
With this kind of watch Kienzle was obviously successful: Already their first pin-levers got this case, and even in the 60s  it was still applied, like in this example. The reason was likely the added use as table clock, today still similar to the time display of the omnipresent smart phone: On the track in the pocket, else on the table, and the daily winding is definitely less hassle than switching on for every time display and occasionally charging. And last not least: Your phone is next year out of fashion and ready for the bin. This watch can serve you the whole life long.
