Gold filled?
This American technology for durable cases was scarcely used in Switzerland, even less for low-grade cylinder movements. But at the rear edges of the bezel is clearly visible that a substantially thick gold layer was pressed together with the base metal. Surely this brings not much gold on the scale, but prevented brassing even on high spots and sharp edges for meanwhile some 85 years.
