Holy Grail
The movement is more or less a copy of the Revue 54 from 1928. It was advertised as Raumnutzwerk (=space efficiency movement), and at the first glance this appears true, due to the big balance and the big barrel. But underneath the barrel space was wasted for the gear of the indirect second. As the driving energy depends on the barrel volume and not only on the diameter, this is likely the worst possible space efficiency. The Longines 9L demonstrates how to do it right: It has also an indirect second, but its gear is placed in the empty space under the balance. This leaves much more volume for the barrel.
The business success was moderate, making watches with this movement fairly rare today. Moreover the strange concept is nailed into the brains of collectors, and the origin Glashütte drives them crazy. A watch with such ingredients even needs not be as good as a Swiss watch of decent quality to reach high prices, even as ruin.
And this watch has not yet lost much of its original beauty. Moreover it comes with steel case and shock devices - today normal, but back then rather uncommon, and restricted to top models
